Jason Anna I'm a front ensemble technician with the cadets been here forth last ten years to talk about some mallet selections we make during the show here for this year's program we tend to use a lot of the multi app series and the pass ante series we haven't excerpted here from The Ballad that×39;going to utilize the m1 71s with the m170 ones we have a nice rubber core chichis a little different from the m1 80series that have the synthetic core gives us a little more warmth even we start to get to more articulate patterns it also has a nice range from the low to the mid of the instrument which we utilize a lot in the ballot production, and it has a little more of that weighted fullness to it like the pissant ace but with the birch shaft sand a little lighter than pheasant days were able to do some of the material that is required for this next portion here this is from our skirt, so we utilize the 180 series here particularly the 180 force 180 3'sand 182'’s depending on the rang that there players are in and at any given moment we have several octaves covered as we go through the production here we'd start to get a more unified octave approach but for this beginning you×39’ll notice the Center players on the 180fours some players to his left on the 180 threes and to the right on the182'which reflects the range of their in Ashe production moves on, and we get to more unified octaves we all kind of come together on a particular mallet, but this mallet with the synthetic core gets a lot more articulation and then the 180fours were in a very, very high part of the register of the instrument and we×39;reable to get a very clear sound and much more scarce alike quality to it with our mallet selection here although×39’d use the pass ante is often for foursome of our low register and more weighted material the multi app series really helps us in regard to a faster more articulate material with the birch shafts we're able to get a little more control out of it and with the lighter weight it definitely allows us to do some more projection and very fast tempos
